UF Health Flagler Hospital Breaks Ground on the Flagler Health Village at Murabella

Saint Augustine, FL – June 14, 2018 -

Nearly 100 people gathered this morning for the groundbreaking of the Flagler Health Village at Murabella. The health village, which will include 20,000 square feet dedicated to urgent care, advanced imaging, laboratory services, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, primary care and specialty care is anticipated to open in Summer of 2019. Additionally, plans for the site include a 25,000 square foot healthy lifestyle center with fitness, prevention and education program offerings for all ages.

“As we broaden our reach into new markets, we do so with great enthusiasm. It is important for us to heal people when they are sick and also to support a healthier, more vibrant community,” said UF Health Flagler Hospital President and CEO Jason Barret. “This includes a focus on physical health and also the emotional and economic health of area residents. Our commitment to value includes care offerings that are convenient, accessible and affordable. At the same time, we will never lose sight of UF Health Flagler Hospital’s unwavering focus on quality, which places us among the top 100 hospitals in America.”

Special guests at the event included Kalilah Jamall, staff assistant in the office of United States Senator Bill Nelson, who provided a special message from Senator Nelson; Senator Travis Hutson; Jackie Smith, aide to Congressman John Rutherford; City of St. Augustine Mayor Nancy Shaver; City of St. Augustine Vice Mayor Todd Neville and St. Johns County Chamber of Commerce Vice President of Operations, Greg Voss.

"We appreciate the incredible support and ongoing collaboration we enjoy with all our community partners,” added Barrett. “When it comes to improving the health and wellbeing of St. Johns County, there is no organization with more experience or commitment than UF Health Flagler Hospital. In fact, we will celebrate 130 years of caring for our area residents, as this project comes to life in 2019. This is an exciting time for our organization, our employees and our community.”
