Childbirth Preparation Classes

Flagler Health+ offers a variety of classes, programs, and support groups designed to help expectant families prepare for childbirth. You do not have to be a patient at Flagler Health+ to participate in our classes.

Please see below for more information about our classes. Registration is required for some classes.

Note: If a class date falls on a holiday, there will be no class. Alternate dates will be posted on this site if they become available.

Childbirth Education Class

This class provides you and your partner information on labor birth, postpartum recovery, and newborn care.

Location: Flagler Hospital, 400 Health Park Blvd., St. Augustine, in the Osceola Conference Room on the first floor near the cafeteria

When: Second Saturday of each month from 8 am to 3 pm

Additionally, time will be available at the end of the Childbirth class from 1 -3 pm for those desiring additional information and practice breathing and comfort techniques for a 'natural childbirth' experience.

Childbirth Education Class (Midweek Class)

This class provides you and your partner information on labor birth, postpartum recovery, and newborn care.

Location: Flagler Hospital, 400 Health Park Blvd., St. Augustine, in the Osceola Conference Room on the first floor near the cafeteria

When: Fourth Monday and Wednesday of each month from 6-8:30 pm.

Postpartum/Newborn Care/Breastfeeding Class

This class provides an interactive learning experience on what to expect after delivery, including postpartum/newborn care and breastfeeding, how it works, the best way to start, and what choices will help you achieve greater breastfeeding success. An optional hospital tour will be offered at the end of this class.

Location: Flagler Hospital, 400 Health Park Blvd., St. Augustine in Room 400

When: Third Saturday of each month from 1 -3 pm

Breastfeeding Support Groups

Note: Support group meetings will not be held if the dates fall on a holiday.

Location: Flagler Hospital, 400 Health Park Blvd., St. Augustine, 32086, Suite 4001

When: Every Monday, from 1:30 – 2:30 pm.

Prenatal Breastfeeding Class via Zoom

This class is facilitated by one of our International Board Certified Lactation Consultants. It covers anatomy, how breastfeeding works, the best way to start, and proven strategies to help you be successful with breastfeeding.

These classes are offered by request. Please email lactationservices@flaglerhealth.org and enter "Zoom Breastfeeding Class" in the subject line to schedule.

Monday - Friday between 9 am and 5 pm, call to request a call back from one of our lactation team. Weekends 9 am - 5 pm; please call 904.819.4351. One of our lactation specialists will return your call within 24 hours. Most weekends, phone support is available from 9 am - 4 pm by calling the main desk on the Maternal-Child Unit at 904.819.4351.
