St. Augustine, Fla. – September 19, 2019

UF Health St. Johnsannounced today its plans to partner with St. Johns County to program events at existing and future UF Health St. JohnsVillage parks, gardens, stages and pavilions. Through the Cultural Events Division, St. Johns County currently offers the community a wide variety of concerts, cultural events and festivals at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre, Ponte Vedra Concert Hall and a number of other smaller venues across the County.

“Building healthier communities takes more than episodic clinical care. That’s why our focus at UF Health St. Johns is on creating a 365-day relationship. To support this, our health villages include dedicated green space to further a sense of connectedness through the arts, wellness activities and special events,” stated UF Health St. JohnsPresident and CEO Jason Barrett. “In going down this path, we knew there would be no better partner than the St. Johns County Cultural Division, which has grown the Amp to be recognized as the 3rd best venue in the world by Pollstar Magazine. We have a 130-year history of working with St. Johns County leaders to advance our community and I am extremely pleased about this new relationship.”

Future plans include adding the UF Health St. JohnsVillage Stage at MuraBella and the UF Health St. JohnsVillage Pavilion at Nocatee to the Sing Out Loud Festival lineup in 2020. The UF Health St. Johnscampus at Durbin Park, slated to open in 2021, will also include dedicated green space and a performance area.

“We understand that St. Johns County’s ongoing status as the healthiest county in Florida is directly tied to the unique culture of collaboration we enjoy across the business, government and non-profit sectors throughout our great community,” commented St. Johns County Administrator Michael Wanchick. “The innovative community health approach that UF Health St. Johns is taking supports opportunities for every person in St. Johns County to enjoy wellness, longevity and quality of life within a strong, healthy community.”
