Donna Wagner, BSN, MS, RN

Donna Wagner is UF Health St. Johns' Vice President, Chief Nursing Officer where she has oversight of all activities in the Division of Nursing, including operation, financial, human resource, and strategic duties for 950 employees.

Mrs. Wagner came to UF Health St. Johns in 2012 as Coordinator for Clinical Education and was promoted to Manager of Clinical Education the following year. She became Service Line Administrator for Cardiovascular Services where she had responsibility for nine departments and 180 FTE’s. In that role, she had oversight for Open Heart Recovery, Cardiovascular Unit, Special Procedure/Interventional Radiology RNs, Cardiac Cath Labs, Cardiology, Respiratory Therapy, Respiratory Therapy, Respiratory Point of Care Lab, Sleep Center, and Wellness Center. During her tenure at UF Health St. Johns Mrs. Wagner also added to her responsibilities the Medical and Surgical Intensive Care Units as well as the Intermediate Critical Care Unit. She then transitioned to Vice President of Quality and Education and lastly Vice President of Education and Patient Experience before stepping into the CNO role.

She came to UF Health St. Johns from Stony Brook University where she was the Clinical Instructor in the Department of Clinical Education, followed by Clinical Nurse Specialist for the Medical ICU, and In-patient Dialysis. Mrs. Wagner began her health care career as an RN at Stony Brook University Hospital and held nursing roles at St. Francis Hospital, and John T. Mather Memorial Hospital, before returning to Stony Brook.

Mrs. Wagner earned her AAS in Nursing from SUNY Farmingdale before receiving her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from St. Joseph’s University. She subsequently went on to earn her Master of Science with a concentration in Nursing Education from St. Joseph’s University.

She has earned numerous honors in her health care career including being named one of the Great 100 Nurses of Northeast Florida, Employee of the Month at Stony Brook University Hospital, and an Outstanding Transformational Leader at UF Health St. Johns . She received the Distinguished Graduate Award from St. Joseph’s University.

Active in the community, Mrs. Wagner serves on the boards of Fostering Connections, St. Johns County School District Healthcare Academy, and the Jacksonville University Nursing Advisory Board as well as the St. Johns River State College Nursing Advisory Board.

In her spare time, she enjoys boating, Zumba, traveling, and spending time with her son.
