TESTS AND FEES

COVID-19 Antigen Rapid Test

Results delivered within 2-3 hours via the Health Anywhere App

This is a diagnostic rapid test for the nucleocapsid protein antigen from SARS-CoV-2 in nasopharyngeal or anterior nasal swab specimens directly collected from individuals suspected of COVID-19 within five days of symptom onset. COVID-19 Antigen Rapid test results are available within 2-5 hours of collecting the sample and delivered via the Health Anywhere app.

COVID-19 rt-PCR Test

Results delivered within 48-72 hours via the Health Anywhere App

This is a diagnostic molecular test taken to understand if a person has an active infection. This means patients can trust the result they receive, regardless of whether the infection is early stage, late stage or anywhere in between. The sample will be overnighted to one of our CLIA-Certified lab partners. Results delivered within 1-3 business days via the Health Anywhere app.

How it Works

  1. Patients need to pre-register for their test by downloading the Health Anywhere app. For iPhones, click here to download from the Apple Store. For Android phones, click here to download from Google Play.
  2. To schedule a test, log onto the app and use the GET CARE function. Then select the St. Augustine COVID-19 testing option and follow the prompt.
  3. Once the test has been scheduled, it will appear in the MY VISITS section on the app home screen.
  4. Prior to testing, patients must complete the online screening and consents.
  5. There is no charge for testing.

NOTE: It is important to note that no tests will be administered unless they are booked through the app. Those without an appointment will be turned away. Although this is a free service, when scheduling a test in the app, patients will need to submit a photo of the front and back of your insurance card when prompted.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: Which type of test do I need?

A: The PCR Viral and Rapid tests will identify if you are currently infected with the COVID-19 virus. However, the PCR Viral test is the gold standard, and most reliable test for an active COVID-19 infection.

Q: Is the rapid test as accurate as the PCR viral test?

A: No. Rapid tests are designed to test patients within the first 5 days of symptoms. Although they have high accuracy when used during this time, they are not as accurate as the gold standard PCR test and can results in a “false negative”.

Q: How can I access my test results?

A: Test results can be accessed through the Health Anywhere app. PDF results of your test are auto-generated and can be found under the “Health Record” section of your Healthboard, which can be found on the bottom of the app's homepage. You will be presented with the option to choose the date that the test was administered and the PDF of the results will appear.

Q: How long will it take before my results are available?

A: Most PCR test results are available within 48-72 hours, while the rapid test results take approximately 2-3 hours. If a test is administered on a Friday, results may not not be available until Monday evening since most labs are closed on Sundays.

Q: What if my rapid test is negative?

A: This could be a “false negative” result as rapid tests do not always detect the virus. A negative rapid test does not completely rule out an active COVID-19 or Influenza infection, especially if you have had an exposure or currently have symptoms. With a negative rapid COVID result, Ivy Medical recommends confirming with a PCR COVID test. For a rapid negative influenza test, Ivy Medical recommends following up with your doctor.

Q: Are there age restrictions on testing?

A: There are no age restrictions on PCR Viral and rapid testing, and for antibody testing, you must be 15 years of age or older.

Q: Can I file for reimbursement with my insurance company?

A: There is no charge for this service.

Q: Can I get tested if I live out of state?

A: Testing is available for anyone who registers via the Health Anywhere app regardless of home address.
